The Vlassenroot Group is a vertically integrated company with facilities in Belgium, Germany, and Poland. Having an integrated ERP/MES system was a critical factor for sustainable, long-term efficiency.
Optimizing and digitizing processes
The main purpose is having the Vlassenroot Group operating with shorter lead times to customers, on time delivery, lean production and process efficiency, and transparency in the whole value chain.
Transparency throughout the value chain
This purpose got translated in a need for smooth end-to-end business processes, centralized data, Kanban driven flows with reduced lead times and optimized shop floor visibility with real time tracking of production and Work-In-Progress management, a group wide Enterprise Resource Planning and Manufacturing Execution System, and an adapted and well-trained organization.
Evaluating exisiting processes and business applications
Mentor and Men helped Vlassenroot Group in bridging business and IT, from requirements definition, vendor selection and support for contract negotiation, up to change and implementation management.
Mentor and Men started off with auditing the existing ERP business solutions, documenting the group business flows, process mappings and business requirements and creating a group business blueprint. After selecting the ERP and MES solutions and partners, Mentor and Men developed a combined ERP/MES implementation approach and supported in group alignment, project, test and change management.

Realisations
The transition to a single business architecture and pilot implementation has been realized. Further roll-out is on the go.
Lead times became more transparent, on time delivery is easier to respect now, improved planning and scheduling has been reached by using real time data, and progress has been made in operational efficiency.
